This theme has a few jQuery enhancements to aid the visitors to your site.  Visitors who try to submit blank searches or post comments without filling in all the boxes will be given hints as to what they’ve done wrong. Try it for yourself by submitting a blank search using the search bar above the sidebar to see what I mean. Threaded comments on wordpress 2.7 could end up getting quite messy and hard to follow with replies up to 10 levels deep. With this theme I’ve taken a slightly different approach to the normal one of just indenting each level a little further left, the first replies to a post will be indented but replies to replies will be collapsed with a bar prompting the visitor to expand the replies above.  Each level is colour coordinated to add to the visual clues. If a visitor turns up without JavaScript enabled the commenting system should remain perfectly logical and usable and the colour coding should be enough of a hint. Try them for yourself here.

Compatibility

This theme is compatible with wordpress 2.1 - 2.7 and beyond. Obviously people still using 2.1 will not magically get the threaded comments of 2.7 or the tagging from 2.3 or any of the other features that have been added to wordpress over the years. However the theme should gracefully degrade to match your version of wordpress. Ah and the JavaScript stuff mentioned above will only work from wordpress 2.5 and up.

Browser compatibility: I’ve tested this theme with as many browsers as I can get my hand upon and it works with them all with my test data. IE6 and above all work, Opera, Firefox, Safari, Chrome all produce expected results. However there is always another browser out there or another combination of post content that can cause things to misbehave, if you find a scenario that causes problems please let us know and we’ll do what we can to fix it as long as it’s not down to your broken html that is.

Resilience

Further to the compatibility mentioned above I’ve taken every step to make this theme as unbreakable as possible. Inserting images that are far too large for the space available, missing titles, floated images all over the place or poorly coded plugins and extension shouldn’t result in any damage.

Customisation

Included with this theme is a fireworks 8 png file that holds all the graphic elements needed for this theme. If you think you’re up to it then you can change this theme quite quickly from just that file.  The main CSS file is also quite customisable if you’d like to take your changes further, you’ll find no blatant hacks to bypass IE quirkiness in there, they’re all in the ie.css file.

Missing title on post
